Caen's 2026 Pride March: a colourful and friendly event not set back by its few technical hiccups

The 25th edition of the Pride March in Caen got off to a rocky start. At 3:30 pm, on Saturday (13th June), the chariot, which was supposed to head up the march, broke down. Despite this minor setback, the event turned out to be a success, with around 3,000 attendees of all ages taking part.

Looking back at the D-Day Swing Festival's fifth edition: here's what you might have missed!

Many gathered in Lion-sur-Mer from the 5th to 7th of June, dancing to the tunes of rock and blues, and admiring the many exhibits here to remind us how important it is never to forget the events of WWII.

The 27th edition of Caen's Student Carnival remains as strong as ever: 32,000 attendees according to the prefecture

It certainly was a bright and lovely afternoon, walking towards the parade's starting point with two Loraxes wearing tutus. What luck it was that the sun decided to shine as people gathered on this Thursday, 26th March. While fewer people attended this year (2025 still holds the record of 36,000 people), the carnival's spirit did not wane.
